Initial arrival is a little awe-inspiring. So much STUFF! So, here are the highlights, lowlights, and everything I can think of in between from Day #1:
The good:
- Nexia Home Intelligence! Our client, Schlage, rebranded their LiNK home automation product, and it officially launched today at CES. White Horse is proud of the work we did on creating the new Web site—www.nexiahome.com—check it out. What is Nexia? It's an easy-to-install way to run your home—from unlocking your front door, managing your heating and cooling, and monitoring home security and energy use from your smartphone, tablet, or computer from wherever you happen to be. Check it out—very cool.
- Ultrabooks. I easily got sucked in to the Ultrabook™. hype at the Intel booth. They're slick, slim, and fast. My aching shoulder was really wishing I had one of these powerful new computers instead of the cement block it felt like I was hauling.
- Gesture Recognition. I love my Kinect, so I was happy to see the gesture recognition technology being extended to the new ultrabooks and to Windows. I'm over clicking—the mouse and the remote are just so 2011.

The bad:
- Not-so-new stuff. 3D, I'm just not that into you. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think you're cut out for everyone's living room. I might see you casually in a theater from time to time, but I don't see myself investing in a long-term relationship. Sorry.
- Recycled displays from last year! Really people, we come to CES in droves to see the newest, coolest of what you have to offer. Do not try and fool me with last year's display. I remember these things.
The celebrities:
I said I wasn't going to get sucked into the celebrities hawking products. I lied. Today's significant sightings:
- 50 Cent. He's coming back tomorrow, and I'm going to wait in line for a picture. There, it's out, and I'm not ashamed.
- Snooki. Seriously, she's tiny, orange, and kind of sweet. I couldn't help but feel kind of sorry for her when there was a line wrapped around the show floor for 50 Cent, but just a short gathering of about seven folks for her. I had a picture taken with her and now feel extremely pale and like I need to bedazzle something immediately.
